Here are some deep house cuts for you to enjoy over the weekend, can never get enough good house music on these late summer evenings, the sun has resumed subtly setting earlier and earlier each day, yet the air is still warm and balmy, smelling like the beach no matter where you are.

has been getting a lot of play, and will undoubtedly be heard a lot with his freshest, newest Raw Cuts EP.  Would you be surprised to know that not only is MCDE not an ensemble, but a one-man outfit, and that this one man, Danilo Plessow, isn’t even from Detroit, but rather the city’s German equivalent of Stuttgart.  My color synesthesia tells me this track sounds like the orange and yellow reflections of a sunset off a river that cuts through a city, being watched from the vantage point of a nearby outdoor club or mixdown.  Nice early evening track.

Up next, is once again, , a track off the Big Bear EP which I posted from earlier.  The entire EP is solid gold, you should check it out now if you haven’t yet, but this track Luftmenschen feels especially appropriate to me because of the track name’s literal definition.  Luftmenschen is Yiddish for a person who spends all their time with airy intellectual pursuits rather than practical matters.  This seems to be a description of me, but either way, this song is fun and bouncy, with a synth line that sounds all too familiar…

Context – Don’t Need A Band

…In fact, I realized that I have a track that sounds almost exactly like the afforementioned sample.  It’s Context‘s Don’t Need a Band, which appeared on Nordic Lounge Vol. 3 in 2006.  Now I know some people are vehemently opposed to lounge music, others are undeniably attracted to it, often for the same reasons.  I think this track would cater more to the latter group, as would the Nordic Lounge series which I highly recommend.  I’m posting this track to illustrate the harmonies between it and the Palm Skin track above, I have a little edit/mashup project set up for these tracks, maybe I’ll post it up if something nice comes from it.

One Of Them – Sometimes I Feel (Stel Remix)

Finally, I’m going to reach back into 2008 and post up a remix I really like from Stel of One Of Them‘s track Sometimes I Feel.  Both One Of Them and Stel have popped back up on my music radar in the last 24 hours, so I bet both have good things brewing in the future.  The voice sample of a female speaking in French makes an interesting addition to Stel’s remix, swirling around quietly in the background almost inaudibly.  This track is definitely a late night tune, visually it sounds like a different type of reflection– muted colors reflecting off condensation of a club window late at night when the club has long since reached near 100% humidity and the moisture has had enough time to gather on the window and condense with the aid of the cooling early morning air.
