I’m very excited today to give you a taste of Principal Participant, the dancefloor-oriented side of Minotaur Shock. He recently released a free EP (you should be able to get it by signing up for Minotaur Shock’s mailing list or his Facebook page) of some of PP’s early material. Having heard some more of it, I must say that if you like this Wonderful tune, you’ll really like what’s coming. I’ve gone on before about his ability to capture emotions musically as Minotaur Shock, well that same ability crosses over to this 4-on-the-floor template, in the case of this track, just capturing a sense of pure fun, especially when the track drops at 1:23. Always astounded by how well-executed his visual and audio is for these projects of his.
Bon Iver – Blood Bank (Skinny Friedman DJ Edit)

So I’m just now getting into , a couple tracks here and there. I’ve been aware of him for a while now, but never heard anything in passing that caught my ear. But when I heard Skinny Love a few weeks back I started to get on board, Justin Vernon has a great voice. Well, today’s pick isn’t a pure Bon Iver song, but rather a really well-done edit from Skinny Friedman. Kind of reminds me of the approach Worst Friends took when they remixed Jack Johnson‘s track Enemy, although maybe not making as bold an attempt to recontextualize the track. Still a good, chill listen.
Modjo – Rollercoaster

Up next is a blast from the past, a very fun, upbeat house track Mogi Grumbles included in his exclusive ISO50 mix last week. If you are a fan of french house or disco house, Daft Punk, Justice, etc., you’ll love this mix– for those who have only heard a little bit of this type of house, the mix goes deeper into all the right places. This track by , that french dance/house group you may vaguely remember from the early 2000’s, is called Rollercoaster, and it definitely brings the energy. Love the vox going on in the track, very funky.
Bogdan Irkük aka Bulgari – Sweat

Finally, I felt like posting up this track I found a few months back from (I’ve posted about him here before as Bogdan Irkük). He popped up in this awesome Faux Pas mix with a track called Space Reflecting On The Bosporus (cool title for a cool track!) and I remember finding this track for free on his blog. Not sure if it’s still up, but he shares some cool music, and I think he has a really nice style laid out distinctly, and he brings that style in full force with all of his tracks.
