Nudge: Everyone Can Create Music
My friend Evan Scott, who runs Race Car Productions had this up on his facebook a couple days ago, it’s from inudge.net. Just a fun little app with a beat grid that lets you compose a simple repeating 4-bar sequence. The one I did above is a little cover by yours truly of Seth Troxler’s Aphrika, one of my favorite tunes of the year. I’m ambivalent about the tagline, “Everyone Can Create Music,” as while that may hold true for this mini app, there are many out there who, despite their efforts, can not make real music. I don’t need to be a jerk and name members of said group; besides, music is such a subjective art form, we all have our own ideas of who out there is the exception to Nudge’s tagline.
