Troxler, Moodymann, Plej, Trevor Loveys
I have a few tracks to share with you today– a couple new ones, and a couple gems. This month has been quite clearly a 4-on-the-floor month for me, as I have been playing and posting tons of dancefloor material. So we’ll start things off with a dancefloor tune, then tone things down and turn the club into a lounge.

Starting things up today is the Royal We, which features vocals from Seth Troxler, who in my opinion, is becoming the Lil Wayne of techno (and I mean that in all the best ways), it’s like if you put Troxler on the track or the remix, you will have yourself a solid gold release that will hit the charts hard. Matthew Styles‘ deep house remix of this track Party Guilt is my favorite of the 4 cuts on . Party Guilt features Seth’s hilarious diatribe of the seemingly substance-less female party-goer, but two remixes incorporate an equally tongue-in-cheek retort from Tamara Deike.
Moodymann – Black Mahogani

Now that we got the new hotness out of the way, I wanted to take a moment and chill things out a little bit. Before I went the way of the indie electronic fan, I used to be big into lounge music **ducks your swing**…I know, I know, lounge music can be as cookie-cutter as trance, but like all genres, there is incredibly good music to be discovered. , however, doesn’t need much digging to discover, you just need to go a little deeper beneath his chart-toppers like Freaki MF which appeared on Crescendo to find lively-yet-chill tunes like this.
Plej – You

I have been a huge fan of since my days of habitual listening to Soma.fm’s Groove Salad years ago, I got into the brotherly duo when I heard the Nordic Lounge series in ’07. Like many other of the chilled-out, funky house that came from Scandinavia during that magical period between 2000 and 2007, the appeal here comes from equal parts pop and groove. Even though their album came out in 2003 (and I believe was re-issued in 2005), the music remains fresh and pertinent.
Trevor Loveys – Planetary Vibes

Finally, I came across this new release from Freerange on Beatport, from . I’m not entirely sure how new the singles on the release are, some of them (including this cut) sound a little dated, but not in a bad way. This track has an appeal akin to 4hero, and I loved Play With The Changes. The release runs a gamut of genres, including House, Techno and even Breaks, but I felt like this track went well with today’s selections.
