Nvelope, Tonbe, Seb Zito, Dixie Yure
I find myself drawn to Beatport almost daily at this point in my search for the hottest, deepest, groovinest cuts, and even more so unable to resist the Exclusive releases they get, $2.49-per-track price tag and all. There’s something about having access as quickly as possible, to be the first to throw this down on the dancefloor, to be onto this right after all the DJ’s who got advances and white labels of material like this. At any rate, I share these finds with all of you in a similar vein, in hopes of spreading the sound when it’s at that very fresh, unfamiliar state, before you play it out, forget about it, and then rediscover it a year and a half later.

Nvelope is a Berlin-based producer, not a big surprise when you listen to this remix by Steinmuller, it’s got a Berlin tech house beat that permeates the beginning, more of a nod to DJ’s than listeners (to help with transitioning and mixing). Once the kick drum and stabs join the track, things get deep and jacked quickly, the entire thing seems to spin around and around. I suppose it’s a pretty appropriate title for the EP, For The Body & Mind, as the music does seem to cater to both.
Tonbe – G Feeling – Evil Is Back EP

Next up is Tonbe, a Serbian producer I’d never heard of, whose new track G Feeling caught my ears almost instantly, then locked things up with the killer drops, where the kick beat coming back in just forces you to bounce. This track has a pretty classic feel between the hi’s and the bassline, which keep it grounded in deep house, other aspects, like the vocals and some of the stabs feel like they pull the track into tech house territory in a similar way as the track above.
Seb Zito – Love Em – We Don’t Question

UK-based producer Seb Zito, does his thing with this track Love Em. As a resident DJ at a club called Fuse, he has likely had the perfect time and setting to test out his ideas, to learn how to move the crowd. This track has a very deep arrangement of stabs and bass, but I think it’s strong point is the kick, which hits very hard, especially when dropped to that 2/4 kick sequence. The name of the EP is We Don’t Question, and when his track comes on, I won’t question either, I’ll just dance.
Dixie Yure – Forever Love – By Defection

For those of us who have been looking for the next catchy Michael Jackson-sampled track, Dixie Yure has delivered with this wild deep house roller called Forever Love that incorporates vocals from Rock With You. At first it might not be readily obvious, as the vocal chop just sort of sits on top of the track, but soon after, parts of the song mix in with this track, at an unconventional pacing, I haven’t really heard anything that mixes up that original classic track, one of my favorites from the King of Pop.
