Time for some funk to be infused with your deepness, some heart to be installed within your tech, the second chunk of my deep house picks for this week. Many of these tracks have a classic spin on them in some way shape or form, be it disco, classic house, funk, or lounge. The uniting thread is good vibrations and positivity.

is a Berlin-based producer and singer, who released an incredible new album called Everything Must Change. I caught wind of this release after listening to the DJ Nature mix on Beats In Space, which my buddy CHARLIE! recommended to me, when the DJ included the title track of Georg’s release. I haven’t been this into uplifting disco house that sounds like it was made with a full band in a while, it almost reminds me of classic Jamiroquai or something.

is one name you might recognize, he has been making amazing music since the 90s, he’s always been on the scene contributing. So when I caught Kevin Yost Fundamentals (Best of the Early Years), I had to give a listen. There is something so disarmingly nostalgic and relaxing and appealing about this sound, nowadays, there is a different emphasis within the production’s various instruments, technological advances have pushed fidelity skyward, leaving gems like this to fill a now vacant slot for more low-key, lo-fi house grooves.

Jayson Brothers, otherwise known as , recently released Raw Cuts Volume 1, on which the Raw Cuts Series to date is presented as a whole, along with cuts from the previously mentioned moniker, Jayson Brothers. This is a slower tune, with heavy kicks that stomp along, meant to really let people feel the bass when you drop this on a proper soundsystem. I remember Danilo Plessow (MCDE) saying that he only plans to do a few more Raw Cuts tracks before he considers the series complete, when you listen to the evolution across these tracks, it’s exciting to think of where he’ll take it next.
Yamil Burguener – Esquina Peatonal – With You I Breathe

Yamil Burguener is an Argentinian producer and songwriter who I hadn’t heard of before a massive chunk of material was just released on Beatport- remixes, originals, all kinds of cool stuff. This track instantly got my attention, I like the casual-sounding vocals, and the loungey chill-out feel. It might be slightly plastic, I won’t lie, but it calls upon that era of Nordic Lounge, Naked Music and Astralwerks when that was what was cool…I still appreciate it, hopefully you guys do too.
