Incredible Vintage Travel Posters
There’s even more…
One of my absolute favorite applications of classic graphic design is the travel poster. Recently, originally from the ‘s Flickr, has been circulating around the internet’s various corners of design bookmarking and re-blogging…this post might be the most directly linked source I’ve seen though, it took some digging. The link above is that golden reward, enjoy!
What I’m in love with here is the color choice, along with the typesetting which you can see was done by hand and not machine. Much like analog film compared to digital photography, there is no doubt a human side of these that has been almost completely abandoned in modern day advertising in favor of the sort of sheen and plasticity that only really works for a select few brands. Just viewing these is a little escape in and of itself, don’t you think? Which ones are your favorite?

I love the old hand-crafted, aged feel you get from these. Lately, I’ve been collecting scans of vintage collateral to use in my own art/design, even designed my blog using cut up posters like these.
The Cleve poster is now hanging in my office, because we’re all models in Cleveland.
Nice find!
