Shigeto – Full Circle LP
from on .
Today, the debut full-length of my good friend Zach Saginaw, aka Shigeto is released to the public. It’s called “Full Circle” and it brings the intricately-crafted first chapter of the young musician’s bright career to fruition. Out on Ghostly International, it’s no secret that this is something he has always dreamed of, and at the same time, there couldn’t be a more appropriate label for the Michigan native to call home. It’s been my privilege to participate in the definition of a visual extension to his music, which features forward-thinking production that has always astounded and amazed in its sense of the past, present, and future. I created the teaser video above, using the original album art assets created by Ghostly’s eminent art director and modern design pioneer at large, Mike Cina, combining a range of materials collected in support of pushing this musical & visual extension into the forth dimension (time), which include cuts of live visuals created in collaboration with Adam E. Hunt and Martin Thoburn, neither are strangers to that extra-musical creative realm that sometimes seems exclusive to Ghostly, and even more obscure effects from the depths of dark corners on the net. I think that at the most fleeting moments, it does successfully explore this aesthetic in new and relevant ways, hope you enjoy. Have a listen to the , and remember to support the artists that inspire you!
