Jazz is one of those therapeutic genres with something to offer in just about any situation, with high mountains and deep valleys of recordings to explore, true musicianship from long before my time. I sometimes wish I could go back to the days of strolling through yellow and orange parks in autumn with a creamy tan peacoat and a pipe burning fragrant vanilla-flavored tobacco, without the hustle and bustle of today’s hyper-connected society. The Hedonist is a masterful curator of vibes that allow me to travel to this time and place in my head, with a perfect NPR-esque approach to hosting, and an always-astounding new discovery from decades past.
