A mix of dancefloor tunes for today, the sun is finally out after a long couple weeks of rain and cold. This is the kind of spring day I wrote about earlier in the week. I’m about to go out and enjoy some of this wonderful sunshine, here are some upbeat deep house, techno and dub tracks to enjoy it to.  The image comes from Double Standards, an incredibly impressive typography-heavy design shop based in Berlin, via ISO50.

These first two are recommendations from Ryan over at Lucid Transport– both tracks have landed firmly in my deep house rotation, with just the types of synths and stabs I love. The first one is from Christian Malloni of Argentina, it’s his single Bimbo ( signified, I suppose, by those goofy tard noises throughout the song), a fun track that sounds strangely like Daft Punk’s voyager…coincidence?  You decide.  The other track comes from Scope (aka Ric McClelland) of Belfast, Ireland.  The track is called Deep In Space, it’s off the Love in Space EP which came out last month on Grouper.  Wait until the synth line from the title track comes in about half way through the song, love that part.

Next track is from Ghostly International‘s Spectral Sound Volume 2, which has been out for a while, but I just started listening to it again.  It’s from Daso Frank (whom you have have heard with Pawas Gupta as Daso & Pawas) of Koln, Germany.  The track has been out for a while, over a year in fact, it’s from the Meine Idee EP, I first heard it last year when Worst Friends did a Ghostlycast.  The album was, and may still be an awesome 11.99 on iTunes, for 50 plus tracks, most definitely worth picking up.

Finally, having gotten deeper into Hyperdub and guys like Kode9, I came across an MC who goes by The Spaceape, and is heard often with dub acts like Beat Pharmacy, the afforementioned Kode9, and in this case, Echologist.  It’s a cosmic dub remix from their single Mercy Beat, which came out on Resopal at the end of this past March.  The rest of the single is markedly more dark and evil, but this selection is airy and mega-chilled, then the beat drops in, and the track skips across water with the Spaceape’s vocals.  Need to hear more of this.
