Caural @ Percussion Lab

So we all know mixes aren’t even a dime a dozen, they’re a freakin penny a dozen…not only are they fun to make, but it’s fun to hype it up for a little while, play it at a party or gathering a few times, or post it up on some blogs and share.  But let’s be honest, the ratio of good mixes to mediocre or bland ones is 1:1000.  That said, and knowing that music is a subjective thing, appealing to some listeners, and appalling to others, once a month I will start posting up some of the best mixes I’ve come across.

Starting it off, some of my all-time favorite mixes come from Sharma’s PercussionLab, you’ve seen and heard his music here before.  This one is from multi-instrumentalist .  He has a very interesting take on hip hop tinged IDM and electronic, and even chiptune.  I used to bump this mix non-stop when I first heard it, great music to get things done to- work around the office or around the house, running and exercising, whatever.  A lot of the material from this mix comes from his album Mirrors for Eyes, which is his latest album…from 2006…he needs to release something soon!  Being in the same realm as folks like Machine Drum, Elliot Lipp, Daedalus, et al., I would like to see how he would contribute to the current movement of this sound.
