UPDATE: 18″x24″ PRINT IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT THE MOODGADGET STORE!

In the last two weeks, I’ve been fortunate to have so much viewership over the Are You Happy? design I created in collaboration with David Meiklejohn of Budget Fabulous Films.  Thousands have seen the design, liked and reblogged it, I’ve seen it posted to FFFFOUND! and Dropular, and a bunch of other great websites and blogs.  And many have expressed interest in purchasing the design in printed form.  So with David’s permission, I will be doing a very limited run of 100 12″x18″ posters for 2009, which will be available in the beginning of October (most likely the 5th if all goes according to schedule).  Those first 100 who have left a comment in my original post will get dibs (as promised) when I send out an email to everyone with pricing, photos and ordering info.  If all 100 aren’t reserved for commenters by the time the print is ready for sale, the remaining ones will be available in a storefront here on Blog.H34.  I will likely not being doing another run until early next year, so make sure you comment in the original post now if you are really interested in purchasing one!  I recommend keeping an eye on Blog.H34 as well by subscribing (you’ll also get some awesome music and design picks from yours truly and friends!)

I am very pleased to announce my choice of printer, Michigan-based print shop VGKids.  At Moodgadget, we have been working with them for a while and are consistently pleased with their flexibility, their friendliness, and most importantly, their dedication to quality.  I recieved quotes from a few local print companies, but no one was able to offer me exactly what I wanted until I spoke to VGK.

The printed Are You Happy? poster comes on highest quality French Speckletone paper, and will be screen printed using 3 expertly-chosen custom ink color mixes in eco-friendly water-based ink, to ensure maximal authenticity.  As such, the print version appears slightly different than the original Typcut version. I’ve cleaned up the dirt and stains, which we will leave the paper’s exquisite natural texture to provide, accentuated the light blue background’s fades and folds, and I replaced the Typcut-specific text with an unintrusive H/34 ’09 limited run logo.  I will have proofs of two different tones of paper I’m comparing in my hands in the very near future, so when the final decision is made I will post photos of the final product (hopefully late this week, or early next week).  Also, I am still looking around for postcard-size, I’d prefer to go local with them, so if you’re interested in postcards, please stay tuned.

As the number nears 100 comments, minus 5 or 6 unrelated comments, I am beginning to wish I was getting more of these printed, but alas, next year is not far away, and I’ll do another run then.  My goal is to be 100% fair with these 100 prints, give the first 100 commenters the chance I promised them to have one, and then open the remaining prints if people decide not to buy to anyone else who does want one.  As such, unfortunately, it’ll be only one per customer.
