Here’s the week’s catch of hot house tracks, mostly deep, a lot of classic deep sounds in there, and catchy beats to help keep you in the swing of things as we all return to the post-Thanksgiving, pre-Christmahannukwanzica home stretch of the year.  Sorry for the lack of posting all last week, but I doubt many of you were checking because you were busy doing the same stuff I was…hanging out with fam and friends, some of whom we don’t get to see more than once a year.  Also, the coolest thing I’ve seen in a while, vintage radio dial faces…the images (via FFFFOUND!) speak for themselves as to why such a random thing could look so damn good.

Danny Stott – Kyoto (Raxon Remix)

Anyway, back on topic, here’s a remix off the new cut from Danny Stott, a producer whom I assume is relatively new to the scene (past year and a half or so), on a similarly new label based in Marseille, France called Brown Eyed Boyz.  I didn’t realize they put out that Sei A remix I loved last month, but it’s ironic because a week or so ago, I was browsing different deep house labels on Beatport and came across BEB, and had a funny feeling that I’d be hearing something cool from them in the near future.  Sure enough, the EP is great, lots of synthy, stringy house, just like I like it.

Robert Babicz – Astor (Shur-I-Kan Remix)

I’ve posted about Shur-I-Kan a couple times around Blog.H34 in the past, and although I’m somewhat ashamed to admit it, I find even the catchier remixes of his to be sort of short lived on my speakers when I lose interest in the track more quickly than other those of producers.  However, it feels absolutely possible that with this excellent remix of the Robert Babicz track Astor, I may finally have found a Shur-I-Kan remix that really sticks.  The beat here, when in full effect, is what I call dirty dirty, and the filtered synth pads backing the track give it irresistable appeal and optimistism.

Shed – Well Done (033472 Edit)

Here’s a classic track I missed out on a few years back.  To be honest, the 2006 date of release on this track from is insignificant, as the track seems to be deeply rooted in classic deep house.  I heard this on episode 24 of the Ghostlycast, which was Ryan Elliott‘s mix from DEMF in May of 2009.  The mix was a real tour-de-force, packing 26 tracks into less than an hour, I have a lot of respect for DJ’s who can pull off such quick transitions without sounding sloppy, or like they have ADD.

Damian Uzabiaga – The Way

Finally, this track from Damian Uzabiaga might just be the highest-BPM track I’ve bought all year…and it’s only 128, which by most standards isn’t even that fast.  Ok, so it actually ties with Justin Faust’s Capri Spinoff, an entirely different side of house music, the point is, it’s been a largely 120-centric year for me in terms of deep house tracks I’ve gotten into.  Anyway, the bounce of the synth in this track is really catchy, sounds like great driving music to me, or good music to jump up and down to when trying to burn off those extra Turkey Day pounds.
