It’s that time again for the week’s haul of deep house tracks, a slightly mixed bag of moods and tones, but all are deep and loungey, some are subtle and relaxing, others are upbeat and filled with energy.  The spring season is in full swing, these tunes are meant to accompany nights where it’s still chilly out and clear blue skies become a welcome re-acquaintance.  The photos for today were taken by Birte Person, of a rare Bengal Tiger at feeding time (via FFFFOUND!)

is , one half of the Wolf + Lamb imprint, and my friend Greg Paulus, one half of .  I guess they got together one night and created this awesome tune, which came out on Crosstown Rebels‘ digital arm.  This subtle little roller has been on my speakers a lot, it plays out like a miami sunset, orange sun and neon pink lights against black silhouettes of palm trees.  I love the way the hi-hats and vocal sample interact with the beat.

Here’s a deep house track that has been catching on with more mainsteam listeners, from what I can tell.  It’s a remix by of a track called Soldiers, by Mademoiselle Caro & Franck Garcia.  The pianos create an especially epic and emotional tone, it can be seen as cheesy or uplifting, depends on how imaginative you are feeling.  I’m digging the vocals, although I wouldn’t think seriously about mixing this track with the one above, it has it’s own thing going on, which I appreciate.

A while back, I posted up a remix did for , it was of a single called Astor, which appears on his recently-released full-length, Immortal Changes.  The release as a whole is incredibly eclectic in terms of styles, running the gamut from ambient to two-step, deep house to minimal techno and hitting other zones in between.  Definitely the kind of release I would send someone who hasn’t really made up their minds yet about what kinds of electronic music they like, or someone looking for sounds inspired by cities like Cologne and Tbilisi.

I have mixed feelings about most of the material I’ve heard from thus far, but this remix he did for ‘s newish single Deep Cover is actually pretty solid.  The bassline is incredibly catchy, and the spicy latin and tribal percussive tones make for a versatile sound that mixes and transitions comfortably between different sounds or moods.  It’s also pretty subtle, however, a quality I have been discussing with my buddy and soon-to-be-new-roommate-for-the-summer Ryan, which as a DJ you might only play a few minutes of in lieu of the whole thing.
