Horrevorts, Kalkbrenner, Rozzo, Martinez Bros.
Few things can beat the simple satisfaction that comes from walking away from Beatport with “hands full,” so to speak, of new hot tracks. I almost always drag them right from the download app into Live and see how they sound mixed up, the anticipation is palpable, sometimes I barely listen to the full tracks before dropping them in and mixing. Finding that new sound that is going to dominate my speakers, even if for only a few days, is what drives my constant search for new music. Here are some of the hottest, freshest, newest cuts I could find, hot off the press. Make sure you turn up your speakers (esp your subs!) to the maximum levels allowed in your current location, wherever that may be.

Starting things off is what may well be my new favorite deep cut since Sax on Wax, it’s by on a split EP from Suol Records in Berlin, and no Suol is not a typo. Even though there is scarcely little information on these guys out there on the net (found their website through their Facebook page, no dice with google), their releases are generally very well-received, and with tracks like this I can see why…holy shit, the bass line in this track feels like an amusement park ride, and when paired with that super heavy kick, and then the dubby tech house sample, it demands body movement. This Dutch producer has come up with some serious fire, my eyes and ears will definitely be open for Suol this year. As the song aptly suggests, “I feel it.”
Fritz Kalkbrenner – Last Call – The Dead End EP

One of Suol’s most prominent artists is up next, , a very well-known name in Berlin’s minimal techno scene, and brother of electro/techno DJ/producer (gotta love the sibling representation!). The sound here is rather familiar, we recognize either the tone or the melody, maybe that’s what inducing our head nod in this track. Really nice when the melodica comes in, I guess that’s an in-sound this season for German deep producers, as one of my other favorite tracks this year was ‘s Melodica, which I blogged about earlier.
Mike Shannon – Under the Radar (Rozzo Remix) – Under the Radar EP

is one-half of , who I posted about when they came through for a very wet Secretsundaze in NYC. He also goes by the name , whom I discovered first a few years ago. His talented production catalog turns out to be far more expansive than I thought, it’s good to see that kind of experience mixing up the charts and airspace with all the new talent. Jimpster played a brand new track of his on the newest Freerange podcast called Meta 002.2, and I MMMUST HAVE…until then, this very deep and sexy remix he did for Mike Shannon will just have to suffice.
The Martinez Brothers – Don’t No Yet – Don’t No Yet EP

Speaking of sibling representation, I was, as I imagine most people are, caught completely off-guard to learn are ridiculously young…the type of young that makes you wonder how they can even get into clubs to hear this music, but also the type of young that suggests a prodigious dedication to house music and culture…a track like this certainly back that theory, it sounds like what many were rockin out to when most of us were still in diapers. I won’t condescend to say I know house, or that I’ve been a house head any earlier than 2001, but I think I’m totally in the right when I say these guys will be making big moves if they keep this up.

[…] Horrevorts caught my ear in 2010 with a track that remains an all-time fav, called Escapade (posted here). With a healthy serving of remixes, including a great remix for Wehbba, it leaves me wondering […]
